BuildingGreen, Inc. Shares Information Resources on Green Building with SBA Institute Students!

January 7, 2011. The Sustainable Building Advisor Program, created by the SBA Institute, is the way of the future. Offering rigorous instruction and certification in environmentally responsible design and construction, the SBA program reaches building professionals with in-depth curriculum on a wide range of issues. The format, which includes local guest lecturers, field trips to green buildings, and a real-life group project puts students directly into the community of green building professionals in their region.

One of the great features of SBA program is the professional certification that can be achieved. Successfully passing the Certified Sustainable Building Advisor exam provides evidence that those individuals will be prepared for the challenges associated with sustainable building today. To date, more than 850 people have completed this certification, and as the network grows, CSBA will be increasingly relied upon by building owners seeking knowledgeable designers and contractors.

BuildingGreen, Inc. is very pleased to make our information resources on green building available to SBA Institute students. The thorough context provided by BuildingGreen resources is an ideal match for the practical, nuts-and-bolts information provided through SBA Institute courses. We look forward to future engagement with the SBA Institute and supporting their efforts to prepare building professionals to take a leadership role in green building.

Sincerely,

We Have a New Name

December 1, 2010. The National Sustainable Building Advisor Program (NaSBAP) today announced its official name change to the Sustainable Building Advisor Institute, or SBA Institute. Our new name accurately describes the organization as an institute of learning founded to expand the capacity of green building professionals and promote the cause of green building through education.

This change acknowledges the mindshare SBA has within our industry and our desire to make it the cornerstone of our branding worldwide. There are currently over 1250 SBA graduates, 550 Certified SBA's, and hundreds of Instructors and partners who connect SBA with excellence in green building education.

In conjunction with the name change, the Organization has adopted a new family of logos intended to provide our Course Providers and Certified SBA's with imagery that connects them visually to the SBA Institute.

The SBA Institute Mission
The SBA Institute creates high value green building educational programs providing professionals with comprehensive, relevant curriculum in an environment where relationships develop and opportunities can emerge. Graduates are prepared to take a leadership role in the world of green building.
